Replacing several blinds? Make a room-by-room plan
Replacing several blinds together does not mean every room needs the same product. Decide what each room needs before copying one selection across the order. A coordinated finish can still include different fabrics, controls and installation priorities.

Give each room a clear job
Write a short brief for each space: softer daylight at the kitchen table, less glare at a desk, evening privacy in the living room, or darkness for daytime sleep. Note when the problem occurs and which windows face neighbors or a public walkway.
Ask the supplier to explain the selected material's privacy in daylight and after dark. Hunter Douglas offers some products combining light-filtering and room-darkening layers; identify which functions matter before choosing a finish. View samples in the intended room and record the exact fabric or slat color.
Choose controls for the people using them
CPSC recommends cordless window coverings and identifies them as the safest option where young children are present. Include rooms children visit, as well as their bedrooms, when reviewing the replacement list.
For each window, decide who will operate the covering and how often. Ask to try the selected cordless mechanism, and describe anything that makes reaching it difficult. If considering motorization, confirm what the chosen system raises, lowers or tilts, and how individual windows and room groups will be controlled.
Plan battery access before choosing motorization
Identify whether the proposed motor uses replaceable batteries, a removable rechargeable unit or an internal rechargeable battery. Ask where routine access will happen with the finished covering installed.
Hunter Douglas's PowerView charging guide distinguishes external wands from internal batteries and specifies its own charging accessories. Check the instructions for your exact system. Include the charger, any required adapter and a practical way to reach the charging connection in the order review.
Keep a mixed order organized
Use the location names from your measurement record on the order checklist and delivery labels. Match each package to that location before parts are distributed around the house. Keep brackets, controls and instructions with their product.
- Check the model, material, color and control option against the approved selection.
- Record missing parts, damage or substitutions before scheduling the affected window.
- Separate products ready for installation from items awaiting a correction.
Agree on the removal sequence
Tell Coast & Craft which rooms need privacy every evening and which can be temporarily unavailable. Coordinate removal room by room after replacements and their parts have been checked; discuss temporary privacy if repairs will delay installation.
Address hazardous existing cords promptly. Include old-covering disposal, bracket removal, exposed-hole repair and control setup in the requested scope. Send the room list, product links, delivery status and priorities together.
